A Gourmet Evening with The Cotswold Chef

Rob Rees MBE entertained, informed and delighted us with his lively banter, imaginative cooking, using locally sourced ingredients and his knowledge, experience and passion for good nutrition, especially in the area of school meals. What a lovely evening.

14th Sept

Digital Photography

We were pleased to welcome Helen Field as our speaker. Helen has recently started her own photographic business in the heart of Slimbridge and she was talking to us about her work, showing us examples of what can be achieved with modern technology (and a lot of skill!). She also provided us with some tips on how to improve our own photographs, both with the camera and with simple editing. Whether an expert or a beginner there was something of interest for everyone in Helen's talk. Thank you Helen for a very informative evening.

Acton Court Visit

24 members and guests were entertained by Bob, our Blue Badge Guide, at Acton Court in Iron Acton on Sunday 10th July.  The sun shone on this wonderfully atmospheric building as we had a fascinating glimpse of life in Tudor Times.  Thanks to Bob!

19th June

Tai Chi in Rosies Wood

We had a lovely start to Sunday morning with Tai Chi in Rosies Wood.  The weather was dry and sunny but quite chilly.  Marion did an hours instruction and then we all enjoyed breakfast of rolls, croissants, butter and jam with fruit juice.

After paying expenses and a donation to Rosies Wood we had a small surplus for our WI funds.

8th June

The Art of Caricatures

Wednesday night at the village hall was full of laughter and learning as we discovered how to draw cartoons and caricatures of our friends.

First we started with cartoons

and found our hidden talents

we went from this

to this

Can you guess who they are?

Keep up the good work!
