UpMAP to TIFF

MAP2TIFF converts Wayne Stahnke's 3-bit greyscale MAP format to 8-bit greyscale TIFF format with LZW compression.

Background The eight MAP intensities are distributed evenly between this background level and white in the TIFF file.
Although MAP files do not capture printing on the rolls, the default setting of 90 maintains compatibility with TIFF files that do.
Horizontal Resolution The MAP format does not record the horizontal resolution, so it is assumed to equal to the vertical resolution unless specified otherwise here.
Metric Units If selected, Horizontal and Vertical resolutions in the TIFF file are recorded in metric units, otherwise in imperial units.
Vertical Mirror Sets the orientation flag in the TIFF Image File Directory to indicate that the image should be viewed from the bottom up, as is usually the case with piano rolls (Red Welte being the main exception).

During conversion the hourglass cursor is displayed while the mouse is within the window.
